TiviMate IPTV Player is an Android TV app that displays an IPTV service's channels in a cable-style programme guide, designed to be used with a TV remote. Like every player, it does not include channels: you connect it to a subscription you already have. Its popularity comes from the interface — a familiar grid guide, quick channel switching and plenty of customisation — on devices such as Android TV boxes, Google TV devices and many Fire TV devices.

IPTV Cote Nord is not affiliated with the developer of TiviMate. TiviMate is one of several player apps commonly used with our service.

Who TiviMate suits

You will probably like TiviMate if…Consider another player if…
You watch mainly on a TV with a remoteYou watch mainly on an iPhone or iPad
You zap between live channels oftenYou mostly watch on-demand movies
You want a cable-style grid guideYou want the simplest possible app
You use an Android TV, Google TV or Fire TV deviceYour TV runs a different system and has no Android device attached

TiviMate is built for TV screens. It is not designed primarily for phones, so on mobile devices most viewers use other players — see IPTV apps by platform.

Free and premium features

TiviMate offers a free version and a paid premium tier that unlocks additional features. The exact list of premium features and the price can change, so check the developer's current information before buying. Our advice: set up the free version with your subscription first, confirm everything works on your device, and only then decide whether the extra features are worth paying for.

Setting up TiviMate with your subscription

The screens may differ slightly by version, but the process is usually:

  1. Install TiviMate from the official app store on your Android TV or Google TV device. On Fire TV devices, check the official Amazon Appstore for your device first; availability can vary by model and region.
  2. Add a playlist. Choose the login type your provider gave you:
    • Xtream Codes — enter the server address, username and password.
    • M3U playlist — enter the playlist URL.
  3. Name the playlist, for example "IPTV Cote Nord", so you recognise it if you add others later.
  4. Add or confirm the guide (EPG). With Xtream Codes, the guide usually loads automatically. With an M3U playlist, you may need to add the guide (XMLTV) link separately.
  5. Wait for the first guide update. Large guides can take a minute or two.

If you subscribe to IPTV Cote Nord, your access details are sent on WhatsApp, and the team can help you enter them in TiviMate on your device. The homepage setup section summarises the three steps.

Getting the guide right in Canada

Canada spans six time zones, and guide data is not always published for yours. If listings look shifted:

  • Check the device's own time zone in its system settings first.
  • Adjust the guide offset in TiviMate's settings if listings are still off by a fixed number of hours.
  • Remember Atlantic and Newfoundland Time are 1 and 1.5 hours ahead of Eastern Time; Pacific is 3 hours behind.

A correctly aligned guide makes the difference between "catching the start of the game" and "arriving at the third period".

Tips for everyday use

  • Favourites: build a favourites group for each person or language in the household.
  • Hide unused groups: large playlists are easier to navigate when you hide categories you never watch.
  • Channel numbers: assign numbers to your most-watched channels so the remote's number keys work like cable.
  • Picture-in-picture or multi-view: availability depends on the version and device; try it before relying on it for a big game.
  • Clear cache occasionally: if the app slows down after months of use, clearing its cache often helps.

Using TiviMate in a household with several TVs

If more than one TV in the home runs TiviMate, a little planning keeps things simple:

  • Install on each device separately. Settings such as favourites, hidden groups and channel numbers are stored per device, so set them up on each TV or copy them using the app's backup options where available.
  • Count simultaneous screens. Each TV that is playing at the same time uses one screen of your subscription. A plan with two screens will not cover three TVs watching at once.
  • Label playlists clearly. If you test more than one service, give each playlist a clear name so nobody in the household edits the wrong one.
  • Agree on a parental PIN. If children use one of the TVs, set the PIN on that device and lock the categories you want to restrict.

IPTV Cote Nord plans cover 1 to 4 simultaneous screens; the pricing page lists the total for each combination.

Hardware that runs TiviMate well

TiviMate itself is light, but large playlists, big guides and 4K streams need capable hardware. An Android TV device with enough memory and an Ethernet port gives the smoothest experience. Our IPTV box guide compares sticks, boxes and smart TV apps.

A reminder about content

TiviMate is a player. The legality of what you watch depends on the service you connect and whether it holds the rights to its content. Our article Is IPTV legal in Canada? explains the distinction.

Frequently asked questions

Does TiviMate include channels?

No. TiviMate is a player. You add your own subscription, and the channels and guide come from that service.

Can I use TiviMate on an iPhone or a Samsung TV?

TiviMate is designed for Android TV devices. On iPhone, iPad or a Samsung or LG TV without an Android device attached, use a player available for that platform.

Do I need TiviMate Premium?

Not to get started. Set up the free version first, confirm your service works, then decide whether the premium features are worth it for you.

Why are my TiviMate guide times wrong?

Usually a time-zone mismatch. Check the device time zone, then adjust the guide offset in TiviMate's settings.
